Like others, i was sceptical of predominantly dark comedian Reece Shearsmith being the lead and the series being taken seriously but as it progresses its a good fit because he excels at playing the mild, quiet, almost comical but extremely creepy characters which many serial killers are.
The only weakness is the actresses cast as the wives are a bit too attractive to seem a credible match for such a nerdish character, especially the last wife who also seems incredibly naive for a professional doctor and not delving deeper into his fraudulent cancer diagnosis as well as moving a complete stranger into her house against her boyfriend's wishes.

A great historical fiction of a lesser known president and era.
Matthew McFadden almost resurrects his Wambsgangs character from Succession as the humble, hopeful but slowly insane assassin.
Id put it up there with the "John Adams" TV series, its similarly polished and visually beautiful with the glorious Victorian and Golden Age sets, what an amazing era of architecture and grandeur, although not quite attaining the finesse of script and political machinations.

Had potential but the acting and script are just not up to par.
It tries to be too clever.
The sub plots are totally unbelievable, incredible and full of plot holes.
The prison break is just totally ridiculous and unbelievable.
The goons they chose to do the job, a simple minded butcher kid with an infatuation on another team member, a ridiculous Australian thug without a brain cell, a kid who walks around drumming all day long, its supposed to be amusing but it falls flat and makes no sense.
Low budget that tries hard but doesn't actually out the effort in.
Shocked that Rufus Sewell would even consider getting involved with the project.
More Netflix catalogue filler.
