  • A feeble frightener/homage to better movies.

So, here we have a sort of "homemade" looking horror flick that's chockablock with ideas pilfered from other notable shockers.

"Beezel" has an interesting idea buried in derivative pieces taken from sources such as "Evil Dead" (demon/witch in the basement) and "Creep" (unsettling man hiring an innocent video artist). Broken up into four segments, only the first two are worth watching. For a short running time, it turns lethargic halfway through. The droning soundtrack music doesn't help at all. The fourth and final episode drags on and offers no explanations about the titular Beezel. How did she/it get into the basement? Why is this thing a witch? How has this "house of horror" gone unreported for decades? And so on.

The final episode might have offered a little information other than the wife's admission to being a "horndog" while the actress goes about swallowing all the scenery.

Take out the few gore scenes and you basically have a Twilight Zone episode from the 60s. "Beezel" started well, but died halfway through. Sad, there was potential there. 3 stars for the first two sequences.
