A great weekend watch .. movie review.. Frankenstein streaming on Netflix!!
Frankenstein is a science fiction horror film directed by Guillermo del Toro and is based on the 1818 novel by Mary Shelley.
The story follows the life of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egoistic scientist whose experiment in creating new life from body parts obtained from various dead bodies goes horribly wrong, resulting in the birth of an abomination shunned by its creator.. finally culminating in a tragic end for both of them.
A great classic revisited .. a creation that stays true to the original novel .
Stand out aspects Great cinematography & set designs .. go a long way in creating a dull dreary dark and ominous ambience that compliments the narrative perfectly.
Apart from the horror elements, the film does an excellent job in exploring the creator - creation love hate relationship, where the creator is the antagonist and the monstrous creation ironically is the hero!! Beautifully depicted!! At the end ur heart really goes out for the monster who is damned for eternity to a loathsome & lonely existence!!
Some downers A bit slow paced, not for people who like fast paced adrenaline rush moments throughout!! A slow burn that takes its time to establish characters .. but once that is done .. it is one hell of a ride !!
Highly recommended if u r an aficionado of old classics!!

Movie Review: Marathi film Asambhav screening 8n cinema halls near you!!
Asambhav is a Marathi thriller suspense film which delves deep into Past Life Regression (PLR), a therapeutic technique that uses hypnosis to access memories from your previous life.
Manasi ( Mukta Barve) is a talented architect who suffers from nightmares in which sees a mansion and a woman who looks exactly like her getting stabbed to death!! On a buisness trip to Nainital with her fiancee Aditya ( Sachit Patil) Manasi stumbles upon the exact same mansion which sets the story in motion. It seems like there is a connection to her previous life and Aditya calls upon his psychologist friend Satyajit ( Sandeep Kulkarni) to perform PLR and get to the bottom of the mystery!!
What is Manasi's connection to the mansion? What dark mysteries does it hold and will she ever be cured of the nightmares that ail her is what the film attempts to decipher!!
Each and every member of the cast has performed brilliantly. Priya Bapat whose role is a bit smaller than Multa Barves delivers a brilliant performance, matching Barve in every respect. Sachit & Sandeep Kulkarni too give restrained performances befitting their stature in the marathi film industry. Overall Casting is bang on !!
The film has high production value & the cinematography is brilliant making Nainital look like paradise. Kudos to the makers on this front. The twist in the climax has also been conceived and executed beautifully!!
Overall Asambhav is a tightly woven gripping suspense thriller which doesn't slacken one bit making it a highly enjoyable watch.
One of the best Marathi films of 2025 in this genre .. no rona dhona .. no preachiness .. sticks to the plot without digressing.
Highly recommended!!

Movie Review: Kaal Trighori ( hindi horror film) screening in cinema halls near you!!
I know most of u might not even hv heard this name before ... Aur soch rahe honge .. kaise kaise picture dekhta hai yeh banda !! Thats how i am folks😁 .. and here i come with my review....
'Kaal Trighori' is a dark supernatural thriller that delves into ancient myths , folklore & mysteries. The plot revolves around a rare celestial phenomenon that occurs only once in a hundred years, when three significant nights - Chaitra Amavasya, Chaitra Purnima, and Baisakhi Amavasya - fall within the same month i.e. In April.
It is believed that this rare celestial alignment awakens a dark and sinister power called 'Trighori'.
The story is connected to a mysterious mansion, and follows three individuals - Raviraj ( Aditya Srivastava from CID fame ) , his wife Madhuri (Rituparna Sengupta) and their family friend Dr Manoj ( Arbaaz Khan) - who unwillingly get sucked into this web of fear, horror and mystery. As the malevolent force awakens , are they victims of a supernatural curse, or pawns in a calculated human conspiracy?
The props used , voodoo dolls, haunted mansion are used well with indian mythology to create a true feeling of horror throughout.
The cast - Arbaaz Khan, making his debut in the horror genre, looks convincing ,Rituparna Sengupta goes overboard with a bit of overacting. Aditya Srivastava, Mahesh Manjrekar ( in a small role as an inspector) , Rajesh Sharma ( as a paranormal expert) do full justice to their individual characters.
Where the film falters is in the production quality, Special effects used seem right out of the 90s .. cudve been better. The script goes haywire here and there .. landing the characters in very odd situations , They themselves might be wondering, idhar kaise pahuncha bhai 😁😁.
Overall , not a total loss ... Grt effort by the makers to blend suspense and psychological horror. Cudve been better .. definitely!!
Wudve ideally gone with 2.5/5 stars for this one .. but I'll be a bit generous here and add half a star for the efforts taken by the makers !!
