I hated it. I LOVED Trainspotting and was so excited to see it. Many of my friends saw it before me and all warned me it wasn't good but I just thought that maybe they weren't proper fans and so maybe didn't get it. So I went full of expectations and convinced I would get what my friends couldn't. I was so disappointed I can't even put it properly into words. With each passing minute I hoped it was going to get better but it just didn't. The person I went with begged for us to leave about halfway through but I said no still naively thinking it might turn around. Well it didn't. It was a rubbish story, there was none of the first films dark humour and it just felt to me that they all knew this would be a money maker and so this was the film that was made. They say sequels are never as good and in this case was definitely the case,

I soooo wanted to like this and when it started i thought "oooh this is definitely a bit of me". However about 10 minutes in a song came on with a music video of them all. Well the song was rubbish but it ended and I thought "ok they just want to show us what their direction is and now we know. However as the programme progresses it is constantly interrupted by a music video of one of them and it's just so flipping annoying! It keeps me from being able to get involved with what is going on with the cast and the storyline plus the music just isn't good either! Every time I'm enjoying a scene it's cut short and now halfway through episode 3 I'm giving up and I've persevered with some baaad reality tv in my time but this is just too poor even for me.

Don't waste your time folks!

Am absolutely gutted that there is only one series of this. I watched it when I had a breakdown and was under section. Watching this each week really made me laugh and I told the other patients about it and once we all watched episode 2 in the television room it became something that we all watched together every week which was the only programme that we did as it was just that good and despite our varied tastes in tv this brought us altogether and despite our personal sad troubles we all laughed and enjoyed it. Really don't know why they only did the one and although I very much enjoy Derry Girls which is by the same people, I still live in hope that they might rekindle this maybe with a new cast who could take over the pub if the original cast wouldn't work. If you like Father Ted or Derry Girls then you will love this!
