Oh wow.....this was so boring. Most of it involves watching the backs of a not at all scary killer and also others walking through the woods. It's about a full 40-45 minutes before anything even a little bit interesting happens. No imagination, the lore with it is lame. Can't imagine how this got any decent reviews as almost nothing happens throughout the entire movie and the end is the most boring of all. Maybe this was some kids senior movie project for a class, in which case.....maybe...but it could have been about 20 minutes and been really good if you cut out all of the walking and everything extraneous to the killing which was the focus the rest of it was just crap. The acting wasn't terrible but the rest was just so boring.... If you like watching someone walk through the woods from behind them...you may enjoy that part. But otherwise, just Lame.
Well, it's a shame that they couldn't get good writers for this. It had potential to be pretty good. Bad decisions abound in this. If you had a few months to prepare, you find a small, most secure place in your house (if you can't find a more secure place....) and you spend your months fortifying that space. You get a power source for that space, make sure it doesn't shed light or noise. You fortify your house as best you can but put most focus on the small space and then BE quiet for ONE night. It needed way better writers. And for people not to be so stupid on the whole. But I guess what to expect.....
The creature is decent and you actually see it which is appreciated. The main character is really pretty but not a good actress, though I have seem Way worse ones too. They tried too hard with the story and the script which didn't quite deliver its intended impact. The concept isn't terrible but they could have gone more into the mythology. The main character, who was supposed to have been a former marine, fought the creature largely by screaming and crying 'No, please...go away...boo hoo...' which was especially annoying as she was supposed to have been a former marine. This was a decent effort overall. You can tell they put effort and thought into it and put the limited budget to pretty good use by making a decent creature.
