More fake news from the land of the "free " . I gave it 4 for a jolly little romp that's visually engaging . Any approximation to a "true story " is instantly ridiculous . Once that bubble is burst any and all pompous nonsense about depth , feminist reality and political insight vanishes into the mist of pure monetisation of what may have been an interesting story - had there been a shred of reality or truth in it . Total fantasy & , like all modern Hollywood tripe , lacking in anything that either educates or illuminates . Dismal ending - untrue and glib - where there might have been some expression of actuality .

All the aspects that make a tale engrossing are at play in this movie . From the start I was involved with all the characters and the plot and , as it unfolded , so both drama and lead roles became richer and even more believable and moving .

Captivating emotionality and scenery give a solid background to a disturbing story . The idyllic setting ,( who wouldn't want to live there ?), gives the lie to the notion that where you live is how you live - the gorgeous location doesn't provide enough heaven to prevent the flawed humanity tainting the view . Younger viewers might not recognise some of the themes as being realistic but - having lived through and witnessed them - I can reassure you that grooming youngsters for pleasure , getting caught in the trap and suffering/enjoying the consequences is quite common . If you're unaware of this you've either not lived long enough or not been observant enough. The joys and pains of inter-generational passion are beautifully observed and several outcomes are visited . Each protagonist presents a different set of feelings , thoughts and understandings of the affairs as the story unfolds . Very believable & moving human tale of the desperate search for love and acceptance in a world of conformity and judgement. This stands as both an education and a warning about how love& lust can present in life .
