Am sorry, but I have nothing positive to say about this. First time watch and it will be the last. Nothing ties together. The acting is bad, and the story is bad. It's like a 500 piece jigsaw with 450 of the peaces missing. The film starts at rock bottom and ends up 6 feet under. I did give it 2 stars because there were a couple of lovely ocean shots.
...Amazing documentary on WW1. If you love history, then you will really enjoy this. Hearing the voices, experiences and stories of these people, who are now no longer with us, is very heart warming. I hope there descendents, have these saved for there family history. This was originally broadcast on the BBC in 1964. As of 2024, I was 2 at the time. There are a lot of episodes on BBC iPlayer as of the date mentioned. This documentary was made to mark the 50th anniversary of the Great war, so it must be remembered that the people telling there stories, are looking back on events so long ago. Whenever anyone (and that includes you and myself), tell stories from our past, it is never 100% accurate.
Knew nothing about this case as I am British and live in the U.K. All I can say is it deeply moved me. So, so sad.
