  • Like a cross between a bad Hallmark movie and Airplane

Airplane is my kid's favorite show and we've watched it at least once a year for several years. I've only seen a couple of Hallmark romance movies and they're so predictable and cute but not my thing. So imagine Amy Poehler as the typical heroine and Paul Rudd as the average dude in one of those movies, and then sprinkle cameos from a bazillion famous comedic actors, and an insane plot, and some physical comedy and word puns like Airplane, and now you get an idea of what this movie was.

At first, within about five minutes, I was ready to turn the movie off. Then I was like, "Oh wait, it's Paul Rudd, he's so much better than this, this has to be satire." And that's when things started getting weird. As long as you go into it with that mindset, you'll laugh. There are definitely some scenes where you'll laugh so hard you might see spots or pee your pants. And then the ending is different. And that's it.

Overall, given how gars I laughed, this was a ten. But generally, plot wise, it's probably a six. Together, definitely worth watching. Hilarious.

  • Very slow comedy

I couldn't finish, I thinkI hated 30 minutes and gave up. I was waiting for the punchline and then would look at my phone and then would look back at the screen and realize I missed the joke. Over and over again. It's not that he's clean comedy and I don't like that. I love Jim Gaffigan and I would consider him clean comedy, as well. I saw a preview on Facebook of this show and it was apparently the funniest clip in the entire thing.

I don't know if the high review is because it got a lot better towards the end? Or are there a bunch of fundies that are artificially boosting the rating because he's "clean"? I don't know, but the pacing was incredibly slow and dry, and it really just sounded like a guy telling stories about his life. Not side splitting comedy.

  • As a lip reader, this episode was amazing

I love seeing deep characters with hearing disabilities! So great! I read lips and i do what he does all of the time to figure out conversations that people don't think anyone else can see. Such a super power. But oh, I won't give spoilers but I am so saddened by this and the direction the show takes. It involves real people and real drama now. But it makes things so suspenseful and goooood. What depth!

And just generally speaking, i really love this show. The characters are so great and the writing, phenomenal. I am so pleased to see older actors really in their prime. Hope much better can Steve or Martin get?!
