To observe the spiritual growth of another person brings to life our own spirituality. The various components of this film fit snugly with love. I'm not the greatest Kate Hudson fan, but she certainly brought this part to life. (Forgive the pun). Her foray into anger was frightening and hurtful but she emerged the person she was meant to be. I'm surprised by how this movie moved me. I thought I was settling down with a comfortable and easy rom-com. It was instead the study of understanding lifes lessons. Watching her evolve into a relationship offers hope. And, the parents were completely suited to their roles. BTW, how fun was the Peter Dinklage part. He's the best.
This movie came,at a really good time for me. I was beginning to see kind of a boring pattern with with what I was watching. Each movie just seemed to be a continuation from the last. To start, Her friend was not a clone of others, but a real and genuine friend. A friend that wasn't afraid to speak the truth. And she, was clearly hiding from love even tho she sold it on her radio show. He was terrified but clearly open for love. Hence, his, app. They both just had to believe it. The characters were played by excellent actors. What more could you want. Oh, yes, they were gorgeous. California is beautiful too, which added to the big picture.
Its nearly impossible to engage in the plot, however simple it is. I keep expecting her eye lashes to stick together so she can't open her eyes. That much eye makeup went out years ago. I'm wondering if the actress didn't object to that much cake with the eyes, and the lips followed suit. What a beautiful girl if she had gone natural. Its also funny to count the ways production made sure all categories were covered in the group. It gets so old having the blend always be the same. Of course right down to the middle aged, overweight woman. Somewhere in this production there might have been a fun movie.
