This season has been absurd and gory and I have loved every episode. Absolutely incredible episode, loved every minute of it. Has a lot of fun with the Christmas theme, and progresses the story in some very satisfying ways with Glen/Glenda, Nica, and the mayor lady. Will be rewatching closer to Christmas. I don't care if the story is good, as long as the show continues to be this fun I want many more seasons. Probably best episode of the season, and honestly wasn't really liking Andy and Kyle this season so don't mind that they aren't in this episode (though I loved them in season 1). Delivers as a great Chucky episode and a great Christmas special.
All the bad reviews are just people who love the original show too much to enjoy something unique that isn't a carbon copy, which is the lamest type of nostalgia. Last episode (sixth) was perfection, every single minute was filled with 10/10 storytelling. This show stays faithful to Dexter (og series) and understands what made it so good, but it also is able to do it's own, refreshing thing. I'm shocked at how entertaining this show is. Every character is amazing (likeable or hateable, they all have great depth), acting is Emmy worthy, music is great, each episode ends super well, storyline is setup incredibly in first episode till this point, the show even knows how to not overdramatically wait for a plot twist. When a character is hinted to have a twist, the show doesn't waste time and just acknowledges it quickly.
This entire second season was just not compelling and lame. I somewhat enjoyed the black and white scenes and the color scenes got better by the third episode, but it's still just a lame nothing story. While this might not be the worst AHS episode ever, it was definently the worst AHS finale. Even when other seasons ended poorly (roanoke, apocalypse) they still had something exciting or cool (Roanoke's finale was entertainingly campy and had some cool kills from the roanoke colony, apocalypse had a few awesome scenes with the witches), but this finale was a boring story. If this were a YouTube scary short, then maybe this would be good, but for a huge and widely popular show like American Horror Story, this felt like a waste of time. The only thing I cared about by this episode was if there was some interesting reveal about the alien's intentions and even though there was some twists they were all disappointing. Past the 5th episode, this season is not rewatch worthy at all.
