  • This is a masterpiece.

This is everything I had wanted Elder Scrolls Online to be (with the exception of multiplayer mode). I just felt compelled to give this a good review, because of how wonderful of an adventure these last several days of playing Avowed have been.

I love many of the characters. The scenery is gorgeous. The voice acting is excellent. Music is lovely. The towns and areas are stimulating of my curiosity continuously compelling me to explore more and more. I feel like a treasure hunter helping people out around the realm.

I had quit ESO a few years ago, because I found the bad guys that attacked me when I was just trying to get from point a to b, to be just irksome and annoying. In this game though, as was the case for me in Zelda Breath of the Wild; I am actually enjoying the little battles between. Also, very important for me, is that I can run away from the baddies that are in the path of my journey, if I don't want to fight them. In ESO, that one fact that I couldn't get around those skirmishes, was probably the main reason I quit.

Although I did like many things about ESO. In fact, this game has many of the positive aspects, in my opinion in a more well done sort of way.

Another thing to note is that you always have a couple companions at your side. Really makes this game feel less empty than other games. Like you're traveling with a couple of friends.

Can't recommend this enough. Usually I am only into pvp. For a single player game to have grasped my attention for so many days in a row...this is only the second time this has happened despite the many solo games I've tried. The first was botwzelda.

  • Wow. A treasure for my movie collection.

    No spoilers.

Be careful not to read too much about this film, as people will likely accidentally give you spoilers.

This one is like Bourne Identity in ways. In the ways the heart of the film slowly grows and grows and you come to care more and more for the characters. I didn't expect a suspense thriller spy movie to make me cry. I didn't expect to be surprised by a couple of the twists.

I am about to watch another movie by this director, because of how much I liked this film. I don't know if it was the directing that helped this be so good or the writing or maybe the acting is what made this. I dont know. So I will watch another by the director and see if it has that same awesomeness. Maybe I'll check the other works of the writers. Granted it is rare that Kevin Costner fails to win me over. Also, ive said it before, and I'll say it again; if a film has gary Oldman in it, there is a high probability it is worth one's time. Though an actor being in a film, is never a guarantee that it will be good. I learned that via several excellent actors making some lame movies.

The film does start out a bit over scrambled and action-spy dive right into the mess sort. Kind of like The Bourne Identity sequels if you know what I mean? However, things start to smooth out after a bit and doesn't fail in the ways they did. You see, in my humble opinion, the Bourne identity was superior to the two sequels, because of character and heart. I liked the sequels, mind you, but they were missing what the first had....what Criminal, this film here, does have.

I will likely watch this one again, and have already recommended it to three people I work with. Don't bale on in the first half hour, stick through, and you'll find yourself delighted with the rest of the movie. Cheers.

  • Better than most sci fi b film. Worth watching.

I'll try to review this without giving spoilers. Or at least without giving any spoilers of important twists or turn outs. This film gives us planetary land survival, laser gun shoot out fights, and even a pretty unique spaceship battle experience in the film's first fifteen minutes. The space battles in the beginning lasted longer than expected to my pleasure.

The movie is very satisfying in the sci-fi theme aspect. Everything I could've hoped for to scratch that itch thankfully.

The main protagonist is cool, well performed, and likable. Aggressive and not a pushover. A spot of humor and attitude every here and there made me giggle time to time. This helped with feeling a caring and connection with the character. The movie even managed to squeeze a tear out of me in that regard in a serious moment. The aggressive and clever fights were kind of unexpected to me and enjoyable.

The space fight was enjoyable in its realism. Yes yes, we could hear the machines in a vacuum. It was determined long ago that for then joy of film, it is more pleasing to us movie goers to hear some fun sounds. By realism I am more referring to the realistic outcomes and fragility of these desperate minds fighting in tin cans in space. I believed this to be a European film, it might be, but in so believing that it was not an American one, I knew that the film might not have happy outcomes. I expected the inevitable realistic views of most euro films. I was not disappointed. The realism and constant threats, and grey acceptances of life as it is, instead of the fake positivity of many American films...ah this was refreshing.

Yet still this is a story of spirit and not giving up. Of trying even when bereft of hope. Of knowing that even when you know there is no hope for your own survival; you still might find a way to help others before your own light of life burns out.

I recommend this for any fans of sci-fi or fans of that spirit.
