What the hell are these writers thinking?? First, they cut down a 10 episode season to an 8 episode one, then they only give us 2 decent episodes out of those 8. Since season one, all we've been hearing from HBO and the writers is "war is coming". But like...WHEN?? The show runners are too cheap, too scared, too lazy, and have absolutely no clue what the source material actually means on a deeper level. I don't need a battle every episode but good lord can SOMETHING HAPPEN??! Daemon's character being thrown away tk Harrenhaal and tripping balls for 8 episodes was such a lazy and pathetic decision on the writers' part. What a disaster...now we have to wait another 3 years for another garbage ass season that will probably be cut down to 7 episodes because hbo and these writers are terrible at their jobs.
I'm telling you right now, this show is so damn good, I can't even get over how exceptional the writing is and how amazingly faithful it is to George RR Martin's original masterful vision. The aftermath of Rook's Rest in this episode gives us just a tease of the horrors and insanity that is going to unfold! Between Aegon becoming Darth Vader, Aemond going crazy and power hungry, Alicent being put in the backseat, and Jace stepping up to the plate, it's safe to say the future of the show and the characters is pure chaos!!!! The lore, the world building, and the overall atmosphere displayed in this episode and all of the other episodes proves that this show is just as good (if not better than some seasons of) Game of Thrones.
