A show supposed to be about an 1800s football league turns into a show about a union of a mill, and about a girl who gave up her baby, and a married couple working through their own issues, and other forgettable things that go nowhere. And within all of this incoherent "drama" about 15 percent of the entire show is actually about football.
None of the storylines have ANYTHING to do with one another and especially nothing to do with football. The football matches are maybe 3 minutes of screen time tops when they are shown with far too many jump cuts.
None of the characters or their stories are interesting enough to keep you wondering what is happening. You feel no connection to any of them because there is no coherent direction with any of their stories and the acting is nothing special.
