  • I never even giggled

I wish we could communicate somehow with other reviewers so I could ask them exactly what scene made them laugh. This is a Lifetime, 80s after school special, or maybe a 70s Disney plot and message. Its so incredibly simplistic and insulting to my intelligence. But obviously not to the general public who are rating this anything higher than a 5 out of 10. It actually confirms what I already knew. That the masses are below average intelligence. The movie, I wont call it a film, is talking to the audience as if they are a bunch of children teaching us a lesson about empathy, how life isn't always fair, and spewing the Hollywood leftist. Funny thing is Keanus character complains about taxes and how difficult it is but Hollywood are the same ones that want to tax the hell.out of the hard working people and redistrute it and enable people are are just sucking off the teet and contributing nothing. The US is still a.place that if you work hard, and take.some chances anyone can still make it out of poverty. I cant comprehend how anyone over the age of 9 years could have found this entertaining. Its embarrassing.

  • They try so hard but just cant

First off my wife is Java and ive been to Indonesia three times. Love Indonesia, food, and the people. But whenever I suggest we watch a movie from Indonesia to my wife, she refuses. And ive come to the realization that she's correct. But I'm gonna keep trying. Well I gave this a shot and it was just another waste of time. I have found one Indonesian horror that ive enjoyed which I believe was called Monster. This has so many holes and ridiculous responses to what's happening that I couldn't continue. Im not going to list them because it would take to long and ive got better things to do. Give it a shot, maybe its your thing. But not for me.

  • Ridiculous premise

I hate these types of premises. Like hunger games, the purge, etc..and other films that have the population and or government participate in these absurd games or tests in order to motivate, or celebrate the people. No sane person would view any of this as a way to uplift the population. Its just so far fetched. I get it I'm supposed to suspend reality but I cant get past the stupidity of it all. Did I watch it, yes. Was it a bad film, no. It was a curiosity. Nothing special though I have heard the book is well done and maybe could enlighten me as to how a society would sink this low and participate in this type of draconian contest. But I doubt it.
