This is great stuff. Shetland can't be a very big place but lots going on. Makes me want to visit Lerwick. All along we think it's Ian but then the Swedish guy and then Rossi. The best bit is Ashley Jenson as Ruth. She claims to be born in Shetland and fits the role as new cop on the isles perfectly. Looking gorgeous and sounding great. Midway through this episode she really hits her stride. Ruth's brother is a problem. Not much of a congregation but I guess that's the way it is on Shetland. Who is Karin? Who is Lutz? What was Ashley Jenson as Ruth up to before Shetland? Ashley Jenson in Ugly Betty?
Sorry but the addition of Rob Lowe made this a depressing bit of slop. He doesn't fit. I love these British detective shows but this disappointed. The thing that makes the British shows so good is exactly the same thing that makes America shows so bad. Real human actors. Not models. Real stories. Not silly reality tv drama.
Good bits? Some new British actors. A different kind of town and houses.
I guess we'll see how the last episodes play out. Rob Lowe makes a career of being moody and dour so I guess that's what we get. Americans are just like that. They are wrapped up in silly trump drama and their own sense of who they are. No more.

I watch lots of Britbox and all the shows but of all of them, this one is the best. The actors are excellent and the interplay between the two leads is a rare thing. Stories are exceptional. Like Vera turned up a notch. I hope it comes back.
I'm in Calgary Alberta and always enjoy the British scenery and old towns. This show is based in Bath which is a new one to me. Here in North America people watch those American cop shows but none of them can hold a candle to this one. All the actors look like models and the locale is always generic American.
I found Britbox some years back and now all the NBC/CBS/ABC stuff is one big soap opera. Keep it up.
