I read the synopsis before watching, and they had me at "time travel". It's a theme I really enjoy, the age old question, "if you could go back in time, can you fix your life, can you make things better?" They explore this concept very well and I was surprised at how deep the story actually is.
The screenwriting is excellent, Kaley Cuoco is just brilliant in the film - she is funny, she is raw, she is relatable. Pete Davidson is not too bad, but doesn't shine like Key. The supporting actors are also amazing, there are so many great scenes that steer clear from cliches, a breath of fresh air. I am so glad I gave this movie a chance, it is well worth the watch.

I found some of the reviews here and the score overall pretty harsh and unfair.
Maybe I've been disappointed too many times by crappy horror films lately, but i thoroughly enjoyed this! Sure, it's got clichés, but what horror movie doesn't nowadays? It can be so easy to miss the mark with this genre that I usually give a chance to anything scoring up to 5. This movie's got very compelling performances, the lead actress is great. There is a nice backstory, you grow to like the characters. The creature/demon is hella scary, I got a fright many times! This has got everything I expect of a horror, so all in all can't complain.

I already suspected that this movie was going to end with no satisfactory explanation whatsoever.
Yes, the acting is phenomenal, the direction is flawless, that montage with the theater set is just stunning, but, man, do I HATE it when movies make no sense. I like everything explained in the end, sue me. I don't want to leave stuff to my imagination. Just explain it to me, please, is that too much to ask?
Every time a new scene came in, I thought, "Maybe this is it, now they will explain at least some of what I've watched so far." Boy, was I wrong. The insanity just kept getting more and more out of control.
