It's no secret that the MCU hasn't been in the best spot recently. While many projects have been released, few have been received well. That's the MCU that Deadpool & Wolverine have to fix. While the movie is not perfect, it accomplishes what it sets out to do. It honors the stories and characters that have come before, while also giving the fans a new direction to look forward to. Without spoilers, it's clear to say the Multiverse saga is here to stay. The possibilities that opens up are endless and give much to look forward to with Secret Wars. However, it's not the fan service that makes this movie work. It is the dedication to these characters and their stories that shows Marvel still has many more stories to tell.
Twisters takes what worked best about the original movie and expands on it. The chemistry between the main cast is off the charts. The special effects are well done and never suspend belief in the disasters happening on screen. The story makes clear the objective from the beginning and doesn't take its foot off the gas from there. It's also nice to see some Oklahoma representation in a major production. However, the movie isn't perfect, of course. Some of the story is predictable at times, characters motivations flip flop, and some of the science in the movie may just be movie magic. Despite all of that, Twisters is easily a summer blockbuster done right and a great time at the movies. So if you feel these types of movies, chase them!
From the pacing to the editing, this movie is bad. The camera work in this movie comes off very amateurish and unprofessional. The action scenes while choreographed decently, are shot in a way where the action is very clearly staged. Don't get me started on the twist. Without getting into spoilers, the plot twist takes all logic and throws it out the window. The only saving grace for this movie is Mamoas and Isabellas performances. While not great, they're serviceable and make the movie somewhat watchable. While the storyline did have potential, it just ended up being another cliché, run of the mills revenge plot. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this moving to anyone.
