Shrinking is a superb show, Harrison Ford as you have never seen him before but will want to see again, really dry humour that is carried off so well, they must have had great fun making this.
The acting is great, the comedy often comes from the exaggeration & classic quality scriptwriting.
This show is hilariously funny, a feel good show, but even if you put aside the plot and the comedy, this show somehow seems to appeal to every group that social media trolls seek to divide.
It sort of ridicules all in a nice way without offending.
It is therapeutic to watch, it is so good that I wait until all episodes have been broadcast and then I saviour it three at a time.

I do not know if this was commissioned by Apple TV but it is yet another disappointment. I usually do not bother watching anything with less than 6.7 IMDB rating and I am left wishing I stuck to my guns.
As usual with Apple lighting is pitiful, story is dragged out to fit 10 episodes but what sets this apart is that story never develops. You need subtitles on to understand a word and rather than build up to a scary moment it spends the whole time trying to scare you with creepy noise.
The result is that you are irritated by the noise, creepy scenes are dragged out with 20 slow motion withdrawal of camera from an empty scene, honestly are they that desperate to make it last the prescribed episode time.
As always with Apple there is an episode you could just miss, perhaps if Apple published this up front for called an episode optional it might help. Really, the answer is to employ a good editor who leaves a lot of cuttings on the floor. Then if it is 5 episodes then leave it at 5 episodes.
The actors were not terrible, I guess they need the work and make the best of it. Maybe this is a victim of the writers strike and the writers changed or lost their way, I don't know but if you are a member of the production team who has some idea it would be good to see your 1 star review and for you to name names.
At first I abandoned at Episode 3, then I started over a month or two later, so double misery.
Then I forced myself to watch all 10 episodes and was left wanting that time back as life is short.
The only spoiler is this is don't waste your time.

Like many AppleTV shows they seem to have made this with very poor lighting, this just annoys. The story is also very dark, I found myself wondering what kind of dark mind thought this up, they may need therapy. Then I thought it was highlighting post natal depression but it was not, actually that would have been more interesting and real. What does not help is jumping back and forth in time, how about something novel, START AT THE BEGINNING chronologically. It is not spoiler to say that this show needs serious editing, it could probably be cut to three 60m episodes, in fact when you get to Episode 7 you realise that they have inserted a totally unrelated story, so you can skip it and be grateful, episode 8 has about 20m of content, Apple so annoy with 6m of previews, ads for other shows, etc. I want to make clear that I LIKED the early performances, the actors did perform well, in fact that is what made me suffer it to the end, albeit that I skipped the filler episode. I think Apple would get higher ratings if it have this a serious pruning and released it as a two or three part mini series in chronological order. However AppleTV get so much wrong, from the TV Portal layout, the lack of proper search and mixing paid and included content which seriously annoys. I have had AppleTV for nearly a year and I think I have only found about 10 things to watch in all that time. If they did not put in so much filler rubbish maybe they could afford the lighting for the shows they do. I think this show had potential, but was ruined, not sure who or why, but the actors are worth watching out for.
