The young actors do an amazing job portraying Gacy's victims. I have read a lot about Gacy and have seen many documentaries - but for the first time, his victims really come to life. Gavin Lewis specifically gives a stellar performance. I was so touched by his portrayal of Timothy McCoy - the optimism, the naivety, the irritation at Gacy's proposal, the shock of realizing what he got himself into - that it still lingers on, days after. Mind you, there's not a lot of time to establish who these boys are, but the actors do a brilliant job doing so. Thanks for giving victims, often reduced to names and a blurry photo, a personality viewers can connect to and sympathize with.
We're off to a good start. You can tell the production value is high, it's well written and the acting is great. Michael Chernus is an obvious stand-out: If you have ever watched interviews with John Wayne Gacy - Chernus sounds exactly like him. But not in an overdone or comical kind of way, he makes him sound real. It's almost a little scary.
What's amazing as well is the attention to detail: from what Gacy is wearing to the house itself with the paintings on the walls or the weird lines painted in Gacy's hallway - it's all there. Just like you have seen in photos or read about in books. Absolutely fantastic job recreating that.

The documentary is worthwile, a decent watch, but that's not why I am writing this review.
What I cannot tolerate are all these nasty reviews on here, which mostly - let's be real - just boil down to one thing only: misogyny. Like blaming her for being decadent and extravagantly spending money? Have you ever checked what sums are paid for (and to) footballers? How on earth is that justified? What about this decadence? Not to mention all the corruption in that line of sport (Quatar comes to mind). Were your reviews just as critical and harsh when you watched David's documentary? I mean, at least Victoria has created things that live on, music, fashion, things you can enjoy, instead of - what? Earning money playing an overhyped children's game, running after a ball?
This is not a dig at David Beckham btw, whom I actually really like. I don't care for his former profession though. Like at all. But my point is: Why are all these reviewers solely targeting her, when everything they criticize is just as applicable to her husband? Why is she "depending on her husband's fame and money" when she is actually still working and challenging herself? (What is his current job description btw?)
I think we all know what is going on here. And it's not pretty. It's actually disgusting.
