I never read the book. Now, I wish i did. This movie is absolutely gripping. Sometimes, a bit hard to watch for anyone who has suffered from familial abuse or neglect but the story of the heroine is a beautiful one. Even the lull moments grip you into her psychology in a far greater depth than you would think possible in a movie.
The ending captures everything and gives you a sympathy for the plight of a character at the deepest pits to your spirit you can imagine.
Well written, beautiful scenes, historically accurate, and jumps at the right time to make you think twice or wonder what will happen next.

I anxiously awaited another season after the show's contract disputes but now I see why it took so long. South Park has died and they dug their own grave to go along with it.
The past 2 episodes have been some of the most cheap, backhanded shots at modern politics disguised as jokes that run together like a half-hearted advertisement.
I'm all for a good laugh and I'm someone who can take a joke myself but when this show barely jabbed the Biden administration and has turned around to this bad faith, surface level commentary, it puts an awful taste in your mouth.
So long, South Park. 26 seasons I supported you two guys. Take that Paramount contract money and then free up the air for real comedians. Your show is over.

This movie up and down just doesn't make any sense. The time lines are blocky at best. The flow doesn't work right. The plot seems to jump almost at will. Accompany a war scene with a less than steller choreography and cast, you have a half baked tuna sandwich of a movie you don't know what to do with.
Motives aren't understood. The backstory is lacking. You feeling you can't apply any detail to anything because well, the cold open comes with zero origination.
It boggles my mind why this movie is so loved by both ends of the political parties. You seek to find valor and reason for whatever the fight is but you aren't given it.
The movie, while not spoiled, in the ending, feels just empty. That there is no other plan or path.
Only reason it got 5/10 was brilliant graphics and visuals. The war scenes were real and enthralling. The director needs to continue to make more war movies but have better script writers.
