10 STAR REVIEWS!
* * * * * * * * * *

Hello, IMDb Friends.

You will see from my reviews and ratings that I prefer action shows, Westerns, war movies, comedies, and science fiction. Some exceptions include drama shows such as Perry Mason and Peyton Place.

I grew up watching the TV Shows and Movies of the 1960's and 70's.

Television shows I watched in my childhood included the classic Sci-Fi dramas Lost in Space and Star Trek, great Westerns such as Rawhide and Gunsmoke, comedies like Andy Griffith Show and the Beverly Hillbillies, and the spy genre shows The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Secret Agent.

In my teenage years we saw the definitive 1970's shows Hawaii Five-0, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Charlie's Angels. In the 1980's Miami Vice (aka "MTV Cops") set a whole new standard.

At the Movie theater in my day, we watched the first runs of Billy Jack, Fistful of Dollars, Enter The Dragon, Escape from New York, Star Wars, and The Blues Brothers. I saw all of these Cinema masterpieces when they made their debuts.

A brief history of our ability to view TV and movies: before the VHS player/recorder came along, and ultimately the personal computer, we were limited to TV reruns, and late night movies. Watching those shows was tedious... they were heavily edited, to allow as many commercials as a channel could squeeze into the time slot.
And then came the VHS player. In the 1980's we got the Blockbuster stores with their VHS tapes. In time, the DVD player was available (a major upgrade compared to VHS). The bane of those late night movies was gone... you could buy a classic movie on DVD for a few bucks, and watch it at your leisure... with NO commercials!

The Tech Revolution brought us access to an even larger, endless array of classic movies and TV shows. Today, an internet search brings up unlimited entertainment. We can watch what we want to watch, when we want to watch it, uncut and uninterrupted. And, we have the magical fast-forward aka "jump-to" ability to plow through dull segments and dull scenes... you can quickly "cut to the chase"!

I found IMDb around year 2010, when IMDb still had message boards. What a great website! Sure, there are other TV and Movie review sites, but they just don't compare to IMDb. I somehow lost my first IMDb account. I rebooted IMDb with this "new account" in the year 2016, and I have been here since.

Thank you for reading my ratings and reviews!
