This series started off on an interesting premise but rapidly went downhill after the first season. The episodes became silly and it appeared as if the writer rapidly ran of of steam and ideas! The characters remained static, annoying and stereotypical. Perhaps it was a good fit for that time, but now really comes across as dated, certainly not timeless. By the end of the second season, it just wasn't worthwhile watching.
This series is a soap opera filled with the usual characters and based on the well worn theme of wealth and inheritance. There is the dysfunctional family with its collection of secrets, multiple wives, various children from the different liaisons, and all are fighting over the legacy. It's a poor copy of Succession. It's somewhat entertaining and hopefully, if there's a second season, it will be a little less predictable, and have fewer tropes and irrelevant sub-plots.
This mini series is the usual story about women trying to break into the male dominated TV newsreader career. The series has the usual characters i.e. Lecherous boss, misogynist co-presenter, ambitious and devious female, as well as other fringe characters who add nothing to the story but seems to have been given parts for no apparent reason at all. The series is not up to the standard of The Morning Show. It's actually a pretty boring script as it delivers its single message, breaking into a male dominated industry is difficult for females.
