And if it weren't for the special treatment that she is given by the superiors and her boyfriend, she wouldn't really have made it, so this is a very weak point for me that brings the whole story down a little. No real passion between the leads. The only pro to the whole show is the king, an excellent portrayal by the actor.
I didn't think I could get through so many episodes but the show is so addictive I finished it in a flash. What a great production, with an almost theatre feel to it. Great cinematography, great set , great story full of romance, intrigue scheming and imperial court fights, this show does not follow the norms with an exciting plot and many surprises. And what an amazing cast, the FL, the emperor, the princes, even the extras however it is worth watching for the acting of the male lead, what an amazing portrayal of a passionate half crazed prince, from snivelling son to madness, to anger he is absolutely amazing, well worth watching.
I haven't read the book but the story is pretty disappointing to me it is full of banal concepts narrow minded perspective and classic stereotypes, nothing surprising nothing different nothing from new. It's a sad day when the nicest character is actually the devil. Goldberg does herself no favors and the rest of the cast or maybe characters are dull and that's being nice.
