Just like most of the latest hero/anti-hero movies out there, this one is a disappointment. Acting is subpar; you don't believe any of the characters. It's like watching a voice over where the people reading the script have no reference to what's going on in the movie. The backstory is accelerated and weak. No context is put in to how Kraven became so deadly besides the fact that he got bit and almost immediately has super powers and becomes a renowned assassin. Character development is no better. The movie is just after the next 'cool' scene where they can throw a little bit of action in with no focus on why any of the characters are doing what they're doing. The villain arc is atrocious. All around a massive disappointment for what could have been a cool movie.
Wow this movie was awful. What a disappointment for an alternative storyline to the Joker. Thankful I waited and didn't pay a dime to watch, because this film was night and day from the first movie. Loved the first movie, wasted two hours of my life watching the second. There were so many directions they could've gone following the first movie and somehow managed to choose the worst one. Everybody bags on the musical aspect. I didn't think it was bad for that reason, it kind of highlights the decent into madness. However, comparing it to some other recent DCU productions, Penguin did a better job of showing Sofia Falcone's descent within Arkham than this movie even came close to with Arthur Fleck. Massive disappointment. If you enjoyed the first movie, and still haven't watched the second, my advice would be: don't.
Seasons 1 and 2 are amazing, funny, filled with witty, great writing, and good character development. Then in season 3 it falls off a cliff. Seasons 3 and 4 writing focuses on being eccentric and quirky with limited character development and a complete lack of the jokes that made the show funny to begin with. No developed jokes and the entire plot of the show seems to lose its focus. The hilarious, somewhat degenerate content that you get in seasons 1 and 2 completely vanishes. Highly recommend just cutting your losses, saving your time, and stopping after Season 2. I'm curious how they screwed it up so much with the blueprint for success laid out from the very beginning.
