This should have been a great series. The acting was top notch and there were some beautiful backdrops of the old west. Unfortunately, poor directing/story arrangement/lighting/sound ruined what could have been.
It was extremely hard to follow throughout for multiple reasons. The story jumped all over the place and introduced too many things too quickly and without any memorable depth before moving on to the next. The lighting was also incredibly dark in every scene that wasn't outside in daylight. I turned the brightness on my tv to its highest setting every time we watched this, but still often couldn't make out what was on the screen. The actors also mostly spoke very quietly and not very clearly, adding to the confusion. And since subtitles weren't available, there's nothing we could do.
Was invested in the story (the half we could follow, at least) and wanted to see how it ended, but were ultimately disappointed.

Love Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza, so decided to give this a try. At the end of the first episode we felt lost and had to look up what's going on. Apparently you're expected to have watched Wandavision and be an expert on the Marvel Universe in order to watch this show. They're not interested in creating a story that can be followed by anyone else.

...and I had low expectations. As a fan of the Hunger Games trilogy, I was intrigued about the prospect of learning more about the uprising that created the first Hunger Games, the origins of Snow and his rise to power, and was hopeful to learn more about the districts or ancestors of characters in the trilogy. Unfortunately, this newest (prequel) story does little of any of those. The story was painfully slow and entirely too long, especially given how little insight it provided into the questions we had going into it. Viewers are left confused, with more questions than answers, and it wasn't a particularly interesting ride to get there.
