I have watched a lot of westerns and still do watch a lot of the old westerns. This show is everything the old westerns are with much better acting and modern filming techniques. For those who didn't like it you just don't know westerns. It's not meant to be a documentary of that time period It's fiction! It's through the eyes of the writer and Taylor Sheridan did a really good job of entertaining you throughout. It has humor, sadness, and a lot of cowboy spirit. If you are a fan of westerns you will like this. This is a stand alone series, you don't need to have watched Yellowstone.
Don't watch this series if you "loved the books" and want this to be just like them. If you want to laugh and be entertained than please watch! Great cast, very funny, charming and great scenery. I had almost given up seeing another season since so much time had gone by but Season 4 finally appeared and it is worth the wait.
We loved this series and binge watched it..... until season three. Why have these same characters suddenly started talking like drunk sailors!! Whats the point? It ruined the show and we quit watching after two episodes in season three. I highly recommend sesson one and two, but do yourself a favor and stop there.
