  • Mission: Outrageously Good!

This review was written in 2025, when America was forking out WAY too much money to see yet another Mission: Impossible sequel at their local movie theater. My take on "Leverage", truth be told, would be "Mission: Impossible CUBED". Unlike the 1960's show with an interminable number of sequels and loads of improbable rubber masked disguises, "Leverage" is very often extremely clever. And it doesn't drive you insane with the SAME PIECE OF UNDERSCORE MUSIC WITH MILITARY DRUMS!

My hat's off to Dean Devlin and company for turning out the 77 original episodes of this series (I have yet to see them all, since in 2025, they run one day per week on one of the ION cable/satellite channels). I thoroughly enjoy the cast, the scripts, and for the most part the Direction on this show. These things work together to, by and large, deliver a fast-paced, tight hour of good television. As the late comedian Fred Allen once said, "They call Television a medium because it's neither rare nor well done". Leverage is the exception in a sea of mediocrity.

  • What the ?

There has been a number of Looney Tune -esque cartoons that have been released since Warner Bros. Originally shut down their animation division, back in the early 1960's. Some of these are better than others, but for the most part, Those cartoons are not what one could call good. The artists and animators have, for the most part, done a good job. But the people responsible for the voice casting have NOT done a great job. I KNOW there are people out there who could do a MUCH better job of making the original Warner characters SOUND like the original characters. There are a few that do, but most of the replacement voices just DON'T sound like the REAL CHARACTERS. The only explanation for this (or should I say "excuse" for this) is that Warners has hired people with ears of LEAD (not even tin) to cast the people responsible for these horrible voices. Don't get me wrong - those who have been cast who do an uncannily great job on the voices they do in place of the classic characters. But my overriding question regarding the awful voices "actors" is simply this: WHO ON EARTH GREENLIT THIS GARBAGE?

  • Randy WHO?

If you remember the cast of "My Mother The Car", you might remember the red-haired boy of the family. He was played by a guy named Randy Whipple. That was his real name, too. I know, because I ENDED UP WORKING WITH THE GUY toward the end of the 20th Century! He was an honest-to-goodness TV News anchor on a cable channel called "Financial News Network". I DIRECTED virtually every show he ever hosted on that late, lamented network. Whipple was a very nice, soft spoken man who left for a TV News gig in the Pacific Northwest. I lost contact with him after that, but I must say I really enjoyed my time working with him.
