... if you scroll down, you'll find the reviews that count...
Because the real ratings and reviews show the truth of the matter:
A cult classic is born!
Just by the esthetics alone, you can understand that this movie doesn't take itself too seriously and they are using the clichés of such a story deliberately from the very start, setting the tone of what you can expect.
It's a sort of fairy tale, it's not supposed to be realistic. (Did anyone actually think so;)
Or rather, it's like a modern myth.
I really enjoyed this beautiful film, especially because of the stark criticism of modern society, or should I say The System.
How we crave fake entertainment to hide from the fact that we have made a soulless, sad society that isn't based on love, but on profit etc etc...
I just rewatched R+J by Baz Luhrman and finally someone is brave enough to create something so bold and beautiful.
Some parts of it isn't perfect, but except for one song I was swept away all the way..
The acting, the pacing, the music !!
Bravo!!
My 10 is literally to boost this movie from bots or whatever it is that is dragging it down. It's between 7 or 8 for me, a very good film that deserves a fanbase.

No, actually, it's great.
This show can seem shallow at first, and I felt the cringe factor in the first episode. But a lot of comedy is cringe, so what? This is so much more than comedy though, it's realistic, raw and heartfelt. Stick it out, this series grows on you (fast..!)
I am in awe how they show the intricacies of codependent relationships without spelling it out. The acting is phenomenal. I can't say how relatable it is, without outing myself...
Chasing love and then panicking when something real shows up might be a cliché, but I can't say I mind this cliché at all, when it's executed perfectly. After all, it's what you'd expect, otherwise this wouldn't be any comedy but a tragedy.
I am just so happy to find such a gem, I am unbelievably tired of the typical Netflix slop, just made to cash in views.
I cried my eyes out and the end, which literally never happens. And the laughs throughout, ah. The main actress KILLS IT. She's stunning and beautiful and sexy, and she's nerdy, needy, awkward and natural.
I love the sister relationship, and the friend group. And the mother is just so annoying and adorable ! Great cast. There is so much subtlety in the script that just has to be seen. Give it a ...shot.

This poor excuse of a movie doesn't even deserve my time writing this.
I fast fwd through most of it to see how "the prophecy" was depicted... and I just don't have a sufficient vocabulary to explain how soul-less and underwhelming it was, just like the movie in it's entirety.
What an amazing waste of effort for the cast who I can't believe signed up for this at all.
The trust in online reviews has gone down another notch, as I simply can't believe the positive ones are even remotely real.
Well, it's official, scripts are now thrown together by chimps on typewriters, but hey. That's an insult to the chimps.
