The Quilters is one of the best documentaries I've seen. After working in a jail for 35 years, I can tell you that inmates can be remorseful, regretful, ambitious, eager to please others, and to learn new things. They appreciate being told when they have done something good. They need to feel pride in themselves. I would love to see a program like this in our facility. Everyone needs to feel like they have a purpose in this world, and to have a chance to redeem themselves. As so many have said...please make this a series. We also need updates on the quilters in this program. There is so much negativity around us. We need more examples of people doing good things for a change.
First off, after working in corrections, it was nice to see such a realistic view of booking and holding. The one person beating on the door and screaming is exactly how holding is. I have seen some overly dramatic examples in the past. And, thank you for being kind to Correctional Officers. They are usually portrayed as obnoxious and corrupt, which is unfair to the majority who are hard working, dedicated officers.
The acting by everyone is superb! I can't believe this is Owen Cooper's first go at this! The transitions he makes are flawless! Stephen Graham...just wow! The entire cast should be awarded.
This is another example of the dangers of social media and how difficult it is for adults to monitor their kid's usage. Teachers have no control of it in classrooms. It has gotten out of hand. I don't know the answer, but something needs to be done. Everyone needs to watch Adolescence. Don't let something like this happen to your family.

After watching at least a dozen Christmas movies this year, I finally found one where the lead actors had real, believable chemistry. We all know how most of these stories are going to end, but this one felt different. The acting was very good, and they played off each other so well. Like another person said, it was refreshing to see actors that didn't look like Barbie and Ken. They were beautiful, but not in the stereotypical way. I would really enjoy seeing them do another movie together!
If you are looking for a good one to watch, I would highly recommend this one. I believe it will be worth your time.
