I loved the first movie, and I am always apprehensive about sequels when the first movie is SO good, that a sequel could possibly ruin it.... But wow, this movie was funny, thrilling, action packed, and just had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I'm someone that has to play on my iPad while watching most movies because I can't always fully focus.... but this movie, I didn't pick up my iPad once, if that says anything. John Bernthal killed it-he was so funny and engaging, and just completely stole the show, in my opinion. All the other actors and actresses were amazing, but in my opinion, he stole it, and I hope that they come out with another one after this, just based off of the sequel.
Don't read too much into the negative reviews. If you enjoy a great action flick, without having to pick a part every little detail, this one is perfect! The storyline is great, fight scenes are fantastic, and if you're a Jason Statham fan you will for sure enjoy this! Is it 100% realistic? No. Are there small plow holes here and there? Possibly. But it's Hollywood, and if you can just enjoy it for what it is, you will love it! Plus, the plot line is super satisfying! Definitely something that I think we all wish could happen to people that take advantage of others. I don't review a lot of movies, but seeing all the negative, I had to throw in some positive.. Go check it out!
I don't typically write reviews for movies, unless they are extremely well done, or so terrible, that I would hope to spare someone from wasting their time. That being said, season one of the show is by far one of the best shows I have ever seen. The writing, directing, and obviously the acting just blew my mind... especially Matthew McConaughey's performance. His depiction of the character, Cole, is so fantastic that I struggle to find a word to describe how good he is in this role. Woody Harrelson also was phenomenal, and their chemistry, in my opinion, is almost unmatched. I have watched season one at least five times all the way through, and it still has me on the edge of my seat. I tend to get easily distracted with movies and shows, and grab my phone during less exciting or intense scenes, but even after watching this multiple times, I find myself putting my phone down, unable to take my eyes off the screen, even though I know what's going to happen. Give it one episode... or, honestly, the first ten minutes, and you will be hooked. I have absolutely no doubt.
