In a world of superficial selective honesty, this movie isn't afraid to yank the bandage off and let the wounds see the light of day. America has all but hidden the harsh truths of its war in Vietnam, forgetting about the thousands of "the walking wounded", and their struggles with fitting into "normal" life.
The cast is stellar and professional. The cinematography crisp and to the point. While the America that it represents has changed dramatically, the message carries well.
It feels like a smart stage play put on film. It may be a bit dry at times, but with adequate concentration, it contains deep emotions and resonates with those on that side of the story.
Thanks to those with the courage to make this possible. It does much to diffuse the stigma of those carrying the burden of being forgotten.
