Totally sappy, cheesy, silly, but sometimes you need a movie like that, right? This had me laughing at quite a few moments, because it really was sooo sappy. It's kitsch, but you should totally watch it on a night where you are entirely ambivalent to what you watch, and you think to yourself, why not? If my rating was based purely on the enjoyment I received from this movie, it would be much higher.
The Super is a movie which builds decently, but has a disappointing pay-off. I found the twist quite interesting actually, though the supernatural elements that appeared prior didn't quite fit in with it, such that those ended up feeling a little misleading. This movie is what I believe to be a rather good idea, but they missed the mark on the execution. This may be due to a change in the script, as during a particular scene lines were obviously dubbed over the original footage. If the revised plot was chosen from the get-go before production, this could have been a much better film.
