It's a little hard to come up with what, exactly, is wrong with this story. Everything is just a little too pat, a little too perfect and a little too clean. A couple, one a hospital nurse and the other a substitute teacher in a private school, live in a rather fine house, in an upscale neighborhood with neighbors who are rather affluent, and there's no explanation of how this young couple lives in such a community given the modest jobs they hold.
Is everyone who is going to be an actual character in this cast going to be dressed in new clothes every day, walking around in their clearly expensive houses? None of the circumstances depicted are believable. Everything is just kind of fluffy, to be frank.

Maybe it's because I don't like Mark Ruffalo, but this one doesn't hand out much to like in its pilot episode. The snail's pace story takes nearly the whole runtime establishing that this is yet another FBI-as-hero snoozefest and that the "hero" is a drunk.
That kind of kills any interest I might have had for this series, since I can't picture an FBI agent as a hero, I don't like stories about drunks, and I don't like Mark Ruffalo. Add to that the way this snorer is going to be doled out one episode a week and I'm all out of interest in this one.
I wonder when TV writers will finally give up on trying to make one bureaucrat with a badge after another the central characters in their dramas. HBO is dead, for all intents and purposes, and I'm an idiot for giving this latest attempt at a series a chance. Maybe I'll never learn.
