  • Terrible

I gave a generous 2/10 for this film. I didn't get past the first hour. I'm not sure why it says it was supposed to be set in 1984 because there was no real sense that the characters were actually in that year, apart from the scene in the mall at the beginning. Diana Prince mostly looked like she was a current day person who had been beamed back to what was supposed to be 1984. It was deathly dull for the first hour but I neither know nor care whether it got better or not after that. It didn't seem like enough research had been done, or experience gained, about 1984 to set the scene from that year.

  • Just 100 minutes of same old Statham

I don't know why I thought this would be different to almost every other Statham film. The fight scenes could be in any of his other films and are beyond belief even more than the others. The only thing that borders on believable are the people working in the data harvesting centres. The villains are terrible and some of the better actors like Minnie Driver and Jeremy Irons must be thankful that they're already established actors because this film wouldn't have helped their careers at all. They must look back on it and wonder why they got involved at all. I think I was very generous in my mark out of 10.
