I have watched and re-watched all of the original PPG's episodes since I was a kid and when I heard that Cartoon Network was rebooting it I was extremely excited but I just couldn't understand any of the choices the team made when making this reboot.
First of all I really wanted to like PPG 2016 when I first started watching it, in fact I almost totally convinced myself to, but after watching 1 full season I could not ignore its glaring faults.
While the animation, updated designs and redone music is a nice distraction which genuinely seems like it had effort put in, the annoying, sometimes out-dated pop culture and internet culture references seem more like a desperate ploy to stay relevant then actual comedy, the characters are grossly misrepresented with not only the main characters being watered-down but the villains becoming one-dimensional and uninteresting and last but not least inappropriate and demeaning messages/morals for kids which is probably the most important, this show treats their target audience (children) like idiots who can't handle mild (emphases on mild), animated violence and woman wearing tops (I mean seriously! did Miss Keane just have breast cancer, where are they?!) also a lack of original ideas is very offbeat, with some recent episodes directly stealing from the original show.
All in all this is a reboot that I would prefer to skip and I'm sorry if you like it, but I honestly do not see the good that you do, personally a reboot I would recommend that is a good shot of nostalgia would be Duck Tales while only the first episode is out it does look promising, or at least better than PPG 2016.
