Hum Chaar makes a case for platonic friendships and attempts at elevating it to the same level as romantic relationships. But in the film, friendship seems to appear as a case of failed attempts at love, rather than friendship being the end goal.
The first half is breezy and enjoyable with the chemistry between the 3 boys being the shining factor. But the second half washes away the shine of the film in what slows down the film through its hospital scenes and it becomes a mini-October of sorts.
There is an awkward tension between love and friendship even though the male lead speaks of doing things out of love for the female lead not expecting anything in return but yet it is disguised in the form of friendship.
Maybe failed love becomes a case of stronger friendship where you wish to do good for the person you love and stay beside her as a good, well-wishing friend. Its a case of platonic, unrequited love turned friendship without the drama of friend-zoned pangs and accepting it. Decent one time watch.
