As someone who genuinely enjoys classic noir and crime films, I had high hopes for Klute (1971), especially given its reputation and Jane Fonda's acclaimed performance. Unfortunately, the film left me completely underwhelmed.
The pacing is painfully slow, with long stretches of dialogue and silence that don't add tension - just boredom. The atmosphere, which could have been haunting or gripping, instead feels cold and emotionally distant. Even the mystery element failed to engage me; it never felt like there was any real urgency or suspense driving the story forward.
Jane Fonda delivers a solid performance, and the cinematography has its moments, but that's simply not enough to carry an entire film. I respect what the filmmakers were trying to do stylistically, but for me, it just didn't work.
If you love noir, you might want to skip this one.

Yup! Only nerds will love this movie, a lot of geeks who like the complicated and boring Christopher Nolan's movies, will like this kind of films, it kind of makes them feel genius and special, I'm pretty sure the film makers are smart and had the courage to make a distinguished film with a new idea, but many viewers including me do not really care for this type of films, if you want to show your directing-filmmaking abilities make a special film for critics and filmmakers and do it in some film festival away from me.
Disney remaked this film with the same plot and the same story with the same characters! But the only difference is that it is not an animation! As if they were bored and suddenly someone said hey! Lets remake The Lion King, but this time lets make it a "live-action" ! and the rest is trash
Please disney stop remaking and start creating!
