Started out clever and funny with the usual dark humor the Addams family features are known for. But it devolves into a occultic and Satanic mess. And don't get started on the political propaganda. Definitely not recommended for children. Or adults for that matter. They could have taken the high road but chose the low road instead. A big disappointment. On a positive note the episodes are well made. Very atmospheric and stylish with a great score to accompany the story. Very Tim Burton. But it's not enough to overcome the rest of the major problems that deflate this series into a very, very hot mess.
This could have been a great uplifting episode but in this episode about sin, salvation and Christianity the name of Jesus is never mentioned. Nor is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Why is that? Because it's Hollywood. Where preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ is forbidden. Even on the Waltons. Disappointing to say the least. However, there is a really good conclusion to this episode that does warm the heart.
Love this highly imaginative episode. Bizarre sets, lighting, music and storyline. But I enjoyed every second. It has everything that I love about this show. Easy 10
