After being scarred by one too many poor quality Hollywood movies for the past decade, I fortunately made the decision to switch to a production from our friends to the East.
It's been a long time since I was emotionally touched and invested so fully in every single main/secondary character. Their development alongside their background stories is so refreshing and the acting is simply sensational. The emotions are so raw being a post war movie, it got me reflecting to how grateful I was in my own life. Never expected this when I pressed play on this movie.
Without giving away spoilers, the movie isn't oversensationalised with crazy scientific weapons to combat Godzilla but an actual plot that doesn't feel too unrealistic. There is the perfect balance of just about everything that makes you feel all spectrums of the human emotion in the span of 2 hours.
I highly recommend watching with the original Japanese audio with respective subtitles. This is a movie I'm sure I will revisit in the future. 10/10.

Certainly was an explosion of emotion but not necessarily in a good way. Various times throughout the movie I was really bored and the scenes felt forced. In some instances, I felt excitement and the action scenes certainly didn't disappoint. It was like riding a rollercoaster and you're not sure if you want to get off or stay on.
On a high level, the plot made sense but the movie could've been 30 minutes shorter with a lot of extended rubbish. The movie definitely could've done more to develop the side characters instead of giving them instant personalities but then again that was always DC's weakpoint. In Marvel movies, there's always a character that's unexpected and provides comedic relief and unfortunately in WW1984 it was extremely predictable and bland.
Now why did I still rate this a 6? I couldn't find any areas where I would recommend to be fixed when normally I'm a smartass and seem to have a comment after most comedic/casual movies.
The teenage kids sitting around me looked like they were half asleep and they extremely disappointed like I was but I still think for fans of Wonder Woman this is a watch and just remember to set the bar low.
