Wow! I've seen both of director Juan-Carlos Asse's first two films (Unsupersize Me and Unsupersize Us) and they were outstanding. This one does not disappoint!! His major theme in each movie is the same. Simply put, a whole-food-plant-based diet coupled with exercise can and will put you into your optimum health and transform your life. Each movie has its own nuances and twists. In Unsupersize Me he took a morbidly obese woman and set out to discover what his plan would do for her in one year. The results were astounding! She lost 200 pounds and regained her life in numerous ways. In his second film he took a group of people who had various health problems (overweight, diabetes, depression, sleep apnea etc) and set out to see what his plan would do for them in just six weeks. Once again, the results were incredible. Each person lost weight and what's more, all of their other medical conditions improved. Including reversals of medical problems!
In his third movie Unsupersize Me in Cuba, he takes Ridiel Perez, an overweight and unhealthy Cuban man and shows that the same plan can work even in a country without many resources, like available gyms.
This movie is fascinating because Director Asse takes us into a country which until recently has been closed to American visitors. We see the beauty of the county and learn about its culture. Asse also shows us that his plan will transform you even if you can't afford or don't have access to a gym. Ridiel Perez has a complete transformation and there is an exciting twist at the end! This is a MUST-SEE!!

This award-winning documentary does not disappoint! It follows the story of Juan-Carlos Asse, owner of a personal training studio and advocate of the-whole-food-plant-based diet and Tracy Ryan, a sedentary, morbidly obese young woman who is desperate to regain her life. Asse sets out to prove that exercise combined with the WFPD diet can and will do just that.
His plan is revolutionary, and yet utterly simple. No diet pills, no calorie-counting, no gimmicks. What follows is a heartwarming and encouraging story giving hope to anyone in need of regaining their health. Tracy's transformation is incredible, how she looks, how she feels and her new lease on life is contagious!
Asse also demonstrates that the results he achieved with Tracy are possible for everyone. He gives viewers the blueprint for success! And, he proves that we don't have to give up the enjoyment derived from delicious meals in order to have our own transformation!

I really, really enjoyed this movie. I love documentaries, but sometimes they can be a little dry. This film combines great information with exciting events to go along with it. I found myself really interested in what was happening with each subject in the film! It was impressive the major health changes that took place in only six weeks. I know that this film made me a believer in plant based nutrition and exercise. I have lost 40 lbs and feel great since watching this film:) So if you are looking for a life changing documentary and you are tired of taking pills that are not fixing you...check this movie out!
