  • Leaves me wanting more

I loved the story, and I loved the smooth transitions from cutscene to gameplay. I also very much appreciated the graphics. What bothered me about this game is that I've played Control and Alan Wakes 1 and 2, and so I can say that Remedy could have done better. Don't get me wrong! I loved the TV series and storyline. What I didn't love was the repetition of fight sequences. This game had sooooo many fight sequences and they were EXPECTED, plus were the same enemy over and over and over. I get they were human, but I appreciated the juggernaut types abundantly more. It just got so repetitive, and dare I say, bland. Control, at least, addressed this and gave you a variety of enemy at any given time and you could explore at your leisure. I'm the type of player who enjoys being immersed in her games, and Alan Wake 2 and Control did so beautifully, but this one had me at half-immersion the entire time, which is the only reason this isn't a 10-star review. And also, there's supposed to be a sequel! The ending alluded to a sequel! It's been almost a decade! Give us a sequel already!
