The pace seems off with this 2025 series of Slow Horses, with too much padding and not enough plot development. In this episode there's lots of hanging around for no good reason in a 'high class' location that was obviously chosen just as an ironic contrast to GO's grungy character. I find myself not especially looking forward to the slog of watching more episodes, which is something new.

After the first third of the film, when the bits in the trailer run out, this film becomes practically unwatchable. I struggled to stay awake as the story meanders along without purpose. And so much bad sweary dialogue that says nothing delivered by actors who had no idea what they were meant to be doing didn't help. It felt like the work of a director who'd never even seen a film before. To be honest, I thought Parasite was only ok and certainly not deserving of an Academy Award. Watching, M17 I feel vindicated in that opinion. In summary, done bother to pay to see this and be prepared not to make it to the end if you stream it. Very disappointed.

This is a well paced, no holds barred horror fest that isn't ashamed of what it is and what it ultimately delivers. There's no Megan-type winks to the audience, instead it's decidedly Barbarian in style. Also, it's more of an Italian film than anything else, with at least half the dialogue and nearly all of the production crew being Italian - which I see as a good thing.

The cinematography was excellent as was music and sound, but what really made it work and hang together was a top draw performance from Ms Sweeney. In just 89 minutes you'll have the divine pleasure of seeing her transform from angelic novice to... well, you'll have to see for yourself.
