"Homebound" is one of those films in the genre of neo-realism popularized by the famous Italian Director Vittorio De Sica in Bysicle Thieves and which inspired Raj Kapoor to produce Boot Polish.

True to life, devoid of glitz and glamour, realist depiction of society, Homebound deals with subjects like caste, community, poverty, opportunities for young population. Though the subjects are so deep and wide, Homebound wants to deal with all of them and therefore fails to achieve. The story feels like scenes stitched together to encompass all the themes.

There is nothing remarkable about acting, photography and cinecraft. And therefore it is no material for an Oscar except it's noble intentions.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, a name in Bollywood that is taken with films like Parinda, 12 th fail, Munnabhai, Parineeta and ..... Can't imagine he has produced this trash.

Amitabh, I do not understand why he has to do make up of a caricature, being such a great actor.

Farhan doesn't have to act, just hold face stirn.

Extremely poor script made to appear thrilling with some Dhoom Dhum.

Tightly scripted, highly nuanced , superbly crafted, "Girls Will Be Girls " is a gem of a film that stays with you.

Shuchi Talati has meticulously directed each scene so that the underlying theme moves forward in a steady progression to where it is headed.

Preeti Panigrahi comes up with an Oscar performance that merits a concentrated look at each footage. The story requires her to come up with exact expression that conveys what goes on in her mind. And Panigrahi is perfectionist.

Kani Kushruti portrays her role of mother but more as a woman that has something missing.

Can't wait for the Vadodara lady to come up with her next.
