  • You've come a long way, baby

Even though it's not up to the better story lines and writing, it's worth watching so younger women can get a feel for the ridicule woman would face in the 50's and 60's ( the "good old days" some people want to go back to). Probably one of the most sexist comedy TV episodes, it's a good peek at extremes that did exist. My mom was a banker and couldn't even have her own account or credit card in these times.

However, I do enjoy comedies like "Our Man Flint" and some of the 60's sex comedies for their spoofyness when taken in context, though I'll still wince at the "absurdity" of women able to govern and other tropes. Believe it or not, as a young girl these shows made me imagine what was possible for women, rather than failing at it. Times were changing, and the movement was already in motion. I already believed anything was possible for me thanks to my parents and seeing more actresses of all cultures and roles was a good boost, even if imperfect.

Thank you to the reviewers who also referenced the actors and other shows they were in.

  • Excellent acting and filmography

After watching a little of the "Versailles" series, I was really hesitant to watch Marie Antoinette. The other was beautiful but horribly written and inaccurate doesn't even begin to describe it. It was terrible in my estimation.

Marie Antoinette however is well acted, beautiful, has an actual story line ( thank you!) and uses history as it's bones. If you like scenery, watch it, costuming-watch it, excellent acting-watch it.

I think they capture the spirit of a very young woman in a world so foreign to her upbringing which you don't see interpreted often.

Marie Antoinette was a scape goat for a lot of France' ills that started decades before her arrival.

Louis is an interesting version of the king, one I hadn't thought of so I watch him to see what happens next He was known to be shy and introverted and interested in mechanical works and didn't want to rule -a tough position for a king.

As someone who spent a lot of time in Versailles, and grew up in Paris, I find this series fun and worth the watching.

  • You decide

Part 33 is like a well- written one-act play. We learn a lot about the characters we think we know and we watch them struggle with what seems like an easy decision. We watch the show because of their passion and moral compass ( which is exhausting to them and us), and this episode shows that black and white decisions may or may not exist. The characters stay true to themselves and you get to examine what are they going to do? What would you do? Do grey lines exist or not? And where do you draw the line? Or is it even your job to draw that line? Some parts of this show is reminiscent of "12 Angry Men", ie when people are compelled to share the same space and make difficult decisions and decide what truth is.
