Coming of age movie that doesn't flow and is boring and somehow had two cameos that are disjointedly inserted to add to the running time of the movie for no reason at all. In fact delete those scenes and make it more coherent and it could have been a much better movie.
It's Nick Cage Meets the Cohen Brothers for this one. Expect a plot along the lines of a Cohen Bros sketch. A little weird and far fetched. Fun movie but wait until it's streaming or free online.
More like a 6.5 just because it's one of Agatha Christie's best and with a storyline like that along with the breathtaking cinema photography (CG or what have you), plus an amazing perforrmence by Kenneth Branagh, there is hardly reason to deny this timeless gem any less. As good as the first try, maybe not, but who cares. However, as other reviewers point out, the big disappointment comes from the fake "woke" plot line that currently seems to have to be insteted into every single movie plotline.
