So many great actors, great scenes and memorable lines. Brando gives us so much emotion while maintaining his punch drunk palooka persona. So much pain and anguish shown with compassion and conviction. Never should be remade or forgotten. Leonard Bernstein created an evocative score and that along with the sounds of the docks bring us into seemy world of labor corruption. Lee J. Cobb is evil personfied, turning brother against brother and killing anyone who gets in his way. A simple morality tale told with passionate performances throughout. They neva shouda left Charlie to hang out to dry. I'm just having a beer with my priest with my brother's blood on my hands.

This movie parodies the tv show Jersey Shore. Awful stereotypical Jersey dialog and less than quality animation make it hard to watch. The worst part is the story about land crabs (poor) vs sea crabs that travel the world and represent the upper class. Any children's movie that tries to reinforce simplistic class dynamics is a disservice. If you liked this movie, good for you. But to consider it one of the best movies of 2023 is utterly ridiculous. The voice actors are good but they were handicapped by a script with no imagination or structure. Let's hope for better for our children, for all children.
