I REALLY love the Dexter series. Origins delves deeper into Dexter, his origins and definitely how Harry arrived at training Dexter. Deb finally has tits in this one too! It does seem that Brian was legitimately a serial killer for decades and was ALWAYS going to be that way so I wonder whether Origins is about him or Dexter. Its great watching them both evolve and learn how to perfect their crafts. Harry certainly had a lot of secrets, caused the entire situation with both men himself and it explains a lot about what happens in the original Dexter show. Just not why the early seasons had nothing to do with Brian. I LOVE IT!
I don't know what other people saw but I thought Megalopolis was fantastic. By the end of the first scene you are already thinking "WTF just happened?"
It's literally a reimagining of a modern day Romeo and Juliet mixed with a story about someone with the power of Cronos, the greek God of Time and Zeus, Poseidon and Hades father. The fantastical idea of a growing city, the literal visualisation of an idea by simply viewing the model and the concept of an invisible structure with unlimited potential or uses... You have to admit that was pretty cool. And Shia LeBouf was his normal greasy self and it's no surprise his character was pawing all over his sister....
That final scene though.... I bet EVERYONE thinks to themselves "You better hope that she figures out what she did soon" at the end :)

Honestly, the movie starts and looks reminiscent to The 300's sea battle. But it truly is a sequel to Gladiator and remains true despite the story evolving. We don't need to be told the story of Maximus, we KNOW so there is very little flashbacks in the movie with him. In fact, I don't recall seeing his face or his voice but you do see the scenes he was in WITH him in it....
Pedro Pascal is always fantastic and whether he starts slow or not, and he does, Denzel Washington has a masterful character full of more depth than any of them. I actually think it's his movie based on the scene's he was in and the importance he has. The one issue I found was that despite the "rage" he kept being told he had, Lucius always seemed passive and unemotional. And the fact that the twins were nurtured by a wolf and somehow conquered Rome. The syphilis is amusing on some levels....
Make no mistake, this follows directly on from the original, stays true to the story and is a legitimate sequel. Unlike many sequels, it can't quite be as great as the original but it does do it justice in a way that many sequels fail to do.
