This list is made for posterity just in case a T-Rex eats me tomorrow. On a serious note, this list was made for people wondering what my favorite movies are. This list will include short films and TV movies. However, this list will exclude television shows as I'm saving those for a future list. Also, this list is in no particular order except for the first one as I don't believe in ranking movies purely based on subjectivism. This refusal to rank artwork means that this list will grow as time marches on, as I have way too many favorite movies beyond the mere concept of 100. Enough with this needless delay! Another Pretentious List Of My Favorite Movies!

When I was 13, I broke my elbow by falling over a baby gate. The point that my elbow fractured was a crucial spot where it had its mobility; 3 surgeries and months upon months of physical therapy subsequently followed. For my emotional therapy, Roger Ebert practically rescued me from killing myself during those dark times thanks to his immense sense of humanity whilst reviewing films. Things were further brightened when I discovered his personal canon, known as The Great Movies, where he listed some of his favorite movies in the hope that they'll receive a following. To thank the great man for bringing me hope in a time of great distress, I'll give out some suggestions for inclusion, just in case beloved Chaz ever decides to revive The Great Movies series with a spinoff to separate it from Roger Ebert's own accomplishment. The spinoff could have multiple critics pick their own favorites to enshrine; that way, Roger's vision for pointing the way towards great classics will never die with him at all, but will be given new meaning and new life instead!

Rereading Roger Ebert's reviews reveals an undeniable humanity behind those words. However, all human beings are flawed and Roger Ebert made some terrible judgments whilst reviewing some classic movies. Since I will be making some controversial decisions here, don't freak out if I praise a film that you yourself hated. It's okay to have differing opinions; I'm just writing this list to unleash some lingering discomfort that I had after reading some of Ebert's worst reviews. I also won't include any bad films that he gave a positive review to here; if he likes something, I'm happy that he has a joy that I don't have. Plus, Ebert has the full right to hate a movie I genuinely love and to love a movie I genuinely hate. However, I also have the right to make fun of his arrogance towards horror movies, his easy-to-offend nature towards uncomfortable material, and his overall tendency to over rely on his emotion when he ought to check that emotion every once in a while. Sorry, Roger- I love you and all that you represent, but you're still human and thus still made some horrific mistakes...

Standard cinematic history has become unfortunately predictable as textbooks gloat on about culturally safe movies that use predictable cliches to their advantage. This list isn't dedicated to further upholding the status quo; it's firmly on the side of the weirdos, the losers, the affirmatively insane, the outrageously offensive, and the guys you will never find in a respectable canon. Sure, some respected classics sometimes do turn out to be secretly mischievous gremlins in disguise all along but for the most part, most classics only uphold the prevailing culture all around them. This permanently expansive list is chiefly devoted to those filmmakers crazy enough to break every rule found in the rule book, and to their fans who worship at their forbidden altars. From recognized mind trips to subversive family fare, this list has got something for every weirdo imaginable. Celebrate your inner monstrosity as we induct the certified weird into the liberated hall of fame. Let's get surreal, everybody!
