Battle Angel Alita (title translated) was Japanese cyberpunk anime published-1990 to 1995. In 1993 it was adopted to Anime OVA-Movie. Alita: Battle Angel (2019) is live action movie adaptation of the 1993's Anime.
The story of Alita: Battle Angel is basically same as 1993's animation, it also adds few more content from the manga while not damaging/twisting the main story line. In the review section I've seen a lot of people criticizing the story. For screen-play writers, an anime/manga adaption movie doesn't allow too much freedom to go wild with the story. I feel James Cameron did an excellent job with the story.
Visuals are really-really good. CGI was 10/10. Also fight sequences were carried out really well. Music and acting was decent enough. Christoph Waltz (Dr. Ido) and Rosa Salazar (Alita) did a good job.
As a movie this should be rated 7-7.5/10. However, considering how difficult it is to adopt a live action movie from a manga, I will rate it 8/10. I recommend watching it 10/10.

Writing this review after completing season 1. A nice and compassionate TV show, pretty close to historical incidents. I recommend watching it. Diego Luna and Michael Peña were spot on with their characters. But if u expect a TV shows as per with original "Narcos", you will probably be a little disappointed.
The story follows ex- Mexican state police Miguel Ángel Félix and his becoming a drag kingpin before cartels even exist. Kiki Camarena is a restless DEA, vowed to 'do something' against drag-lords, but found himself bound by the shackle of corruption and bureaucracy. Kiki was the whistle blower who made the suits of DC to recognize the vastness of actual problem but paid dearly because of it.
Following paragraph contains !!!! SPOILERS !!!
The last 2 episodes however was a little late-down, pacing was a bit off, felt like content worth of one episode was stressed into making 2 episodes. Kiki's death was revealed much early IMO and last episode felt like ONLY a staging for season 2.

A lot of people absolutely love this anime, a lot of people hate it to its core. The question is, is it good or bad, which one is it.
First of all, lets talk about the aspects everyone agrees upon. This anime has- 10/10 music, 10/10 animation, 9/10 fighting seq. Great right?? So why so many people hate it?
This anime has a unique story development. It only tells bare minimum. People often criticize the lack of back-stories of the main characters, lack of world-building materials. However, all anime should not follow the same path. This anime tells a story about the contribution of a certain organizations part in a rebellion. The organization members never had much empathy for the people or independence, or even justice. So the back-stories about the characters, the anime-style-epic-B&W-flashback scene, the relation / interaction between some characters was somewhat avoided and I think it is for the good.
Some people hate it for the deaths. I think it certainly is a fresh and bold step, far from the no-death cliche. Also it somewhat moves away from manga ending. Some people don't like anime-original endings.
This anime ventures to a place where no anime had the courage to go before. Like it, or hate it, this is a must watch for all anime fans.
