Season 1 was fantastic! Season 2? Eh.
Clearly a loss of focus here. Season 1 was SO well-done and ingenious, but Season 2 is proving to be the red-headed step-child. Super lackluster (no offense to red heads or step children, it's still firey), and it just doesn't garner the same storytelling and finesse of the the first season. Still working on it, but it so hard to get through because of it's faults. Dull storylines and uninspired writing are the beasts of Season 2. But I don't discount the fact that there are bouts of fantastic direction that carry the stories through. Overall disappointed in season 2, but Season 1 was so fantastically contrived that I can't dismiss the fact.

This is, by far, the WORST episode of Modern Love, yet. I live in NYC and this is like a bad experience on the subway - people just talking over each other to the point that you can't even make out the dialogue. Very poorly written and even worse directed, so the message, although good, gets completely buried. We have enough chaos in our lives today. This is like ADHD on crack and not the kind of frantic mayhem that we need right now.
